Minimum wage & Maximum daily wage update

As of July 1, 2025, the statutory minimum hourly wage in the Netherlands has increased to €14.40 gross per hour for employees aged 21 and older. This marks a 2.42% increase from the previous rate of €14.06 and is part of the government’s biannual adjustment in response to inflation and changes in purchasing power. The statutory minimum wage applies universally across sectors and is updated every six months, on January 1 and July 1, to help ensure fair and consistent compensation practices for all workers.

In addition, the maximum daily wage, which is used by the Dutch Employee Insurance Agency (UWV) to calculate government benefit payments and, in some cases, serves as the maximum base for sick pay, has been increased to €297.82 per day. This figure is indexed twice a year and directly linked to changes in the statutory minimum wage.
