Dutch Tax Authorities: New bank account from May 2026

The Dutch Tax Authorities (Belastingdienst and Dienst Toeslagen) have updated their banking arrangements.

As of 1 May 2026, their services have transitioned from ING to Rabobank. As a result, a new IBAN is now in use for payments and repayments.

Key change

Tax sort   Old bank account  New Bank account
VAT, CIT, income tax, and wage tax NL 86 INGB 0002 4455 88  NL 04 RABO 0200 1122 44
(I) OSS  NL 88 INGB 0000 4410 47 NL 04 RABO 0200 1444 48

The payment schedule remains unchanged. The first payments from the new account are expected on 22 June 2026.

What to consider

Although administrative in nature, this update requires attention to ensure processes remain aligned.

We recommend:

  • Updating bank account details in your financial records
  • Using the new IBAN for any repayments
  • Informing relevant stakeholders, such as finance or payroll teams, and employees where applicable

Additional points

  • Payments made to the previous ING account will continue to be processed
  • The Dutch Tax Authorities periodically appoint a banking partner. Rabobank has been selected for the upcoming period

Fraud awareness

The Dutch Tax Authorities do not request payments via email, SMS, WhatsApp, or phone. Any such communication should be treated with caution.

If you would like to assess whether this change affects your organization or internal processes, our team would be glad to discuss this with you.
